Our Story

Nash Grass Unit is a high-energy progressive bluegrass band based in Nashville, Tennessee, blending traditional musicianship with modern acoustic intensity.

Anchored by a weekly residency at The Nation’s Bar & Grill, the band has built a reputation for electrifying live performances, tight ensemble playing, and fearless improvisation.

The group features Sam Stuckey (bass), Lucas White (guitar), Tristen Norfleet (mandolin), Connor Murray (fiddle), and Kelsey Crews (banjo)—five standout musicians deeply rooted in bluegrass tradition while pushing the sound forward with fresh arrangements and explosive stage chemistry.

Drawing from the spirit of the jamgrass movement while honoring the foundations of classic bluegrass, Nash Grass Unit delivers a dynamic sound that connects with both traditional listeners and new audiences discovering acoustic music.

The band is currently recording their debut full-length album, with their first single—a progressive bluegrass interpretation of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down”—set for release in June 2026. As their audience continues to grow in Nashville and beyond, Nash Grass Unit is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting new acts in modern bluegrass, built for the national festival circuit.
