Nash Grass Unit is a progressive bluegrass band from Nashville, Tennessee, combining hard-driving acoustic playing, close vocal harmonies and improvisation. Guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle and banjo provide a traditional foundation, while fresh arrangements bring bluegrass standards and songs from beyond the genre into the same musical conversation.

Nash Grass Unit’s full-length live album arrives December 4, 2026. Produced by Lucas White and recorded live at Pluck It Studio by Matt Munsey, the album was mixed by Dewey Boyd Jr. and mastered by Alex McCollough at True East Mastering.

In 2026, NGU performed at Nashville’s Station Inn and made its Whiskey Jam debut during CMA Fest week. Its fall run included sold-out shows at the Velveteen in Salida, Colorado, for a Smalltown Gathering afterparty and at Lucia in Lawrence, Kansas. At home, the band maintains a residency at Acme Feed & Seed, bringing bluegrass to Nashville’s Lower Broadway.

The band brings together guitarist Lucas White, bassist Sam Stuckey, mandolinist Tristen Norfleet, fiddler Connor Murray, banjo player Nick Ball and high-harmony vocalist Adam Ramaley. NGU’s roots stretch back four years to White and Stuckey’s performances at The Nations Bar & Grill in Nashville.

Live recordings of ‘I Won’t Back Down,’ ‘There Is A Time’ and ‘If I Ever Get Back to Old Kentucky’ capture the range of the band’s repertoire. Together, they reflect an approach grounded in bluegrass tradition, with vocal harmony and instrumental interplay at its center.
