Nash Grass Unit is a progressive bluegrass band from Nashville, Tennessee, built on hard-driving acoustic musicianship, rich vocal harmony, and a live show that bridges traditional bluegrass energy with a modern jamgrass edge.

Officially formed in 2026 after years of developing their sound through a long-running Nashville residency, Nash Grass Unit has quickly become one of the city’s exciting new acoustic acts. The band brings together five musicians with deep roots in bluegrass, country, folk, and live improvisational music: Lucas White on guitar, Kelsey Crews on banjo, Connor Murray on fiddle, Tristen Norfleet on mandolin, and Sam Stuckey on upright bass.

Nash Grass Unit’s first three releases — “I Won’t Back Down,” “There Is A Time,” and “If I Ever Get Back to Old Kentucky” — introduce the band through the thing that defines it most clearly: live performance. Each track captures the group’s ability to honor traditional material while pushing it forward with fresh arrangements, driving rhythm, three-part harmony, and the kind of musical chemistry that only comes from a band built on the stage.

In June 2026, Nash Grass Unit made its Whiskey Jam debut during CMA Fest week in Nashville, bringing its high-energy acoustic sound to one of Music City’s most recognized stages. On July 16, the band will continue that momentum with an upcoming performance at the world-famous Station Inn, one of the most important bluegrass rooms in the country.

This fall, Nash Grass Unit will release Nash Grass Unit Live Session, an 11-song full-length album featuring songs the band has played live. The album will serve as a broader introduction to the group’s sound, capturing the arrangements, energy, and musicianship that have shaped the band’s rise in Nashville and beyond.

With members who have appeared on stages including the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, major bluegrass festivals, and landmark Nashville venues, Nash Grass Unit is building toward a future rooted in live performance, original artistry, and a bold vision for modern acoustic music.
