Nash Grass Unit is a progressive bluegrass band from Nashville, Tennessee, blending hard-driving picking, close vocal harmonies and improvisation. With guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle and banjo, NGU brings fresh arrangements to bluegrass standards and songs beyond the genre. Its recent live highlights include the Station Inn, Whiskey Jam and sold-out shows in Colorado and Kansas.

Nashville progressive bluegrass band Nash Grass Unit’s 2026 highlights include a performance at the Station Inn, a Whiskey Jam appearance during CMA Fest week, and sold-out shows at the Velveteen in Salida, Colorado, for a Smalltown Gathering afterparty and at Lucia in Lawrence, Kansas.
Nash Grass Unit’s full-length live album arrives December 4, 2026. Produced by Lucas White and recorded live at Pluck It Studio by Matt Munsey, the album was mixed by Dewey Boyd Jr. and mastered by Alex McCollough at True East Mastering.
The band combines guitar, upright bass, mandolin, fiddle and banjo with close vocal harmonies and improvisation. Its live recordings span bluegrass repertoire and songs beyond the genre, including ‘I Won’t Back Down,’ ‘There Is A Time’ and ‘If I Ever Get Back to Old Kentucky.’ The band also maintains a residency at Nashville’s Acme Feed & Seed.
