Our Story
Nash Grass Unit is a high-energy progressive bluegrass band based in Nashville, Tennessee, delivering a powerful blend of traditional picking and modern acoustic intensity.
Anchored by a weekly residency at The Nation’s Bar & Grill, the group has quickly built a reputation for electrifying live performances, tight ensemble musicianship, and fearless improvisation.
The band features Sam Stuckey (bass), Lucas White (guitar), Tristen Norfleet (mandolin), Connor Murray (fiddle), and Kelsey Crews (banjo); five standout musicians deeply rooted in bluegrass tradition while pushing the music forward with fresh arrangements and explosive stage chemistry.
Drawing from the spirit of the jamgrass movement while honoring the foundations of classic bluegrass, Nash Grass Unit brings a dynamic sound that resonates with both traditional listeners and new audiences discovering acoustic music for the first time.
The band is currently recording their debut full-length album, with their first single, a progressive bluegrass interpretation of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down”, set for release in June 2026. As their audience continues to grow in Nashville and beyond, Nash Grass Unit is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting new acts on the modern bluegrass scene, poised to bring their high-octane sound to festival stages across the country.
